Hi, I'm Amber

I empower people

to live free from the pressures of society

Equipped with relatable life experience and formal Coaching & Counselling training, I help people turn over a new leaf.

I am direct and no nonsense while remaining compassionate and understanding.

Embracing all my authentic self has to offer has led me to find the most authentic friendships, set boundaries, and find a wonderful kind of love.

I want to enable others to have that kind of authenticity as well.

This Is My Story

Hey, I'm Amber. I go by she/her pronouns.

For as long as I can remember, I have always been a deeply-feeling person. I didn’t know how to deal with these feelings and believed the narrative that I was “too sensitive” and “too much”. I knew I was different from others—but I thought it meant something was wrong with me.

I started to struggle with my mental health around the age of 15. Diagnosed with depression, I saw a lot of adaptive behaviours emerge. Always interested in the human condition and personal growth, I sought out a lot of self-help.

Eventually, I sought professional help with coaches, and then with a registered therapist.  I was able to start letting go of society’s expectations of who and what I should be.

“Who am I? What do I want?

What do I desire?”

As a late bloomer in the LGBTQ2S+ community, and a late-diagnosed ADHDer, I learned that I was different from others—and it’s totally normal and OK. I gained so much clarity around all my past struggles. This experience (and the way my brain works) helps me empathize with others—I am able to see it as the strength it is.

Embracing all my authentic self has to offer has led me to find the most authentic friendships, set boundaries, and find a wonderful kind of love. I want to enable others to have that kind of authenticity as well.

The process has also made it easier for me to make decisions about what’s serving me, and what’s not. This includes deciding to leave my well-established nursing career.

For over ten years, I worked as a Registered Nurse in Manitoba and BC, believing it was my calling. I worked in emergency, critical care, extended and remote practice, and education. I was damn good at it. But nursing took its toll on me. Leaving that career felt like losing a part of my identity. I had to ask myself a lot of hard questions. I had to grieve the person I was. A career I (sometimes) still loved. I also had to practice finding out what I really wanted, and desired. I spent a lot of time making crafty messes, going on nature walks, reading for fun, and snuggling with my dog. I love to garden and tend to my houseplants, go camping, and exploring new places. I’m a life-long learner and devour all the self-development and psychology books that I can.

The biggest realization I received from my career change was realizing that nursing wasn’t my calling—it's connecting with people. This is what truly fulfils me. This led me to begin my training coaching and counselling. With my previous education and experience, including becoming a Body Image Bootcamp Facilitator, and my newfound education, I am honoured to help you rediscover yourself and turn over a new leaf.

Connecting with people is my calling.

Before beginning my education as a Counsellor and Life Coach, I worked as a nurse for over ten years. Notably, I worked emergency/critical care, extended and remote practice, and in education. I take pride in my career as a nurse and will take the lessons learned with me.

I have a Nursing Degree from the University of Manitoba and a Life Skills Coach Certificate with Rhodes Wellness College (an ICF accredited program).

Additionally, I'm in the process of completing a Professional Counsellor Diploma from Rhodes Wellness College so I can help people in deeper and more meaningful ways.

Mission Statement

I help people feel empowered to live authentically; to live free from the pressures of society and cultivate a higher potential.

You are not a failure in the world, although our society might make you believe you are.

You cannot increase your power if you are carrying old stories where you weren’t “good enough.”

I help you find underused resources and call forth the strength and competence that you already have.

I invite you to challenge internal beliefs that are not serving you.

Through this work, I can help you move forward.
